Diverse Culture and Perspectives: The United States is known for its cultural diversity. Studying in the U.S. allows students to experience a wide range of cultures, traditions, and perspectives, providing a rich, international experience.
Networking Opportunities: Studying in the U.S. enables students to make connections not just locally, but also with international students from around the world, which can lead to lifelong friendships and valuable career networking opportunities.
Language Skills: While English is widely spoken in the EU, studying in America gives students the chance to become completely immersed in an English-speaking environment, which can strengthen their language skills significantly.
At American High School, we believe that language and cultural understanding are essential for success in today’s globalized world. Our international program is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in an increasingly diverse, technological, and interconnected society. We offer both single and multi-year options to accommodate each student’s unique needs.
International students can apply for admission by completing our application form. Students who are applying to grades 10 and up will be asked to provide a translated copy of their academic records.
American High School provides services to assist students in connecting with local host families or home-stay agencies. We also offer support in obtaining the I-20 visa. Prior to arriving in the U.S., students are required to have medical and dental insurance, as well as all necessary immunizations for their stay in the United States.
We would love to have you visit our campus and have an interview while school is in session. If you can’t make it in person, no worries! Our admissions office can set up a Skype or telephone interview after we receive your application. Looking forward to hearing from you!
We understand that not all applicants are native English speakers, so we do not require them to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or other equivalent tests.
However, we do expect all candidates to have a good grasp of spoken and written English. We recommend that students have a competency level equivalent to at least the CEFR Level B1.
American High School doesn’t have any boarding options. So, you’ll need to make your own arrangements for staying with a local host family while you attend. In the past, many international students have stayed with extended family or friends.
If you need help finding a suitable host family, just let us know on your application. We’ll do our best to assist you, but please keep in mind that we can’t guarantee placement through the school.
Thanks for understanding!
Before we can issue an I-20 visa, we will need a local host address from you. This is necessary for the student to be accepted by American High School, in addition to the signed enrollment contract and $1,000 enrollment fee.
Parents must provide proof of financial support for the first year of study. If, for any reason, the I-20 is not granted, the school will refund the fee.
